hi! so i'm just trying to get an understanding of the whole NBDE and how it works, and i think i've pretty much wrapped my head around it for international students who do 2 years of the international dentist program. BUT, im confused to as how it works for you guys who do the regular 4 years of dental school.

i mean, we do part 1 (some colleges require part 2) as part of protocol to get into the program, then we dor part two at teh end of course completion to get the degree..... right? 🙂

so now, im guessing you guys do part 1 after your first two years, then do part 2 after the next two years...? so why is it im reading posts where people after getting their NBDE scores are applying to various colleges? what are they applying for? specialization? residency? transfers after doing part 1?

i'd really appreciate it if someone could just clarify this for me

thanks a ton! 🙂

foriegn trained dentist can give part 1 in their second yr of dental schools( in home country). and the scores are valid for i guess 3 - 5 yrs and on the basis of that score u apply to a dental school in the US to get a DDS degree ..becuse in aisa we get BDS( bachelor in dental surgery) and in the US they require DDS to get a lisence so we forign trained dentist do our bds and give part 1 and get inducted into a dental school in the US and contnue on with their 3rd yr and finally complete 2 yrs od dental school there to get DDS.and some universities require part 2 aswell so we can take that exams too! i hope that clears all!!
