Hi everyone,

I saw a list of reference books for NDBE part I, can anybody tell me which books should i buy for studying beyond CD with Dental decks and kaplan review note????

Thank you so muccccchhhhhhhhhh
😳 🙂

Used mainly
1. Dental Deck 2004 - Went through 3 times.
2. Class notes - briefly went through once
3. Old tests - from 80's to most recent. Went through once for Anat and Bio/Phy. Micro/Path was my weakest subject, so I went through three times. DA/O - didn't have enough time to go through all the test, so did 2 of the recent test.

Used as reference to look up whenever I didn't understand the subject
1. BRS Pathology
2. Usmle first aid
3. Lange "Medical Microbiology and Immunology"
4. management fo tmj disorder and occlusion by okeson. I read Ch3 to Ch6 one week before the test. I took practice 98 test 3 weeks before the cbt test. I got 95 on every section except dental anatomy. Scored 86. so, I spent last 2 weeks mainly on DA/O.

In my opinion, paper is harder than cbt, but gives you more curves. My class had over 20 people who got over 90's in paper test, and they complained big time how hard the test was. Most of these people got 90 and 91. From what I heard from my classmates, the test was hard, but they got tons of curves.
For my cbt test, I thought it was generally easy except for several questions in each section. If you're well prepared, paper test should be better. Cbt asks some random questions that were more general science questions. If you want to get above 90's in cbt, I think you should look at usmle first aid to pick up few general question to give you an edge. Like " which part of replication cycle is most variable in mammal?" G1,M, S, etc.

I got anat 95, bio 95, micro-95, Dao-97. I took Cbt in sep 3.
Read or understand pic in Okeson's ch3-ch6 if you want to do well in occlusion.
