As I'm getting ready to take the big exam in a couple days, I was wondering if the "standardized scale" provided for the 1998 exam is anything close to how the actual scores play out. For example, if I'm getting in the 90's on old exams according to this scale, does that really have any indication at all how well/poorly I'll do on the real thing? For those of you who have take this beast, how did your "actual score" compare to this "standardized" one?

It was pretty close. With the exception of anatomy, they were within 1 or 2 points. Anatomy was maybe 4-5 points lower for me.

True for me, except my anatomy was 10 points lower. 👎

Ouch!!

Sorry about the bad news. How did you guys get your scores back so quickly? By the way, great question. I was wondering the same thing.

I essentially ruined my chance of doing anything productive in post-grad work.
🙁

Can you still retake it or it's just a one time deal?

you can retake it.

You can actually retake it as much as you want. But I think you can only take it twice a year, no earlier than 90 days from your last one.

Thanks, not like I was looking forward on retaking it 😀 but who knows 😕 🙂

I was thinking of retaking it next month, but someone just told me that it is curved using the previuous 3 months scores. Is this true?Lately I havent come across too many people doing well,I mean like mid to high nieties. The best I heard in last 3 months is 91.Freaks me out.I have an 85 and when I compare to other people in this forum,I feel like I may not even get into an AEGD or GPR.

After speaking to the folks at testing services, the test you take at that instant already has a "curve" on it. This means that each questions has its' own structure based on level of difficulty. Don't worry about- just go ahead and take it over if that is what you want to do.
