Has anyone taken both forms 11 and 7 or the real thing yet? Just curious to see how the newer forms stack up to the "approved" NBME 7..i.e., were your scores comparable on the 2? I've only done 11 and thought the anatomy in particular was tough, but that might just be because I suck at anatomy. 🙂 Was anatomy especially difficult in 11? I also thought phrasing on some of the genetics ones were weird.

Anyways, got a 220 3 weeks before the real thing but have no clue how predictive one test really is anyway and I have no clue what I'm even shooting for!

The grading scale for 6 and 7 have changed to "better predict scores". 11 and 12 were getting a reputation for being difficult, when compared to 6 and 7 (before the change). I think all 4 of them are now scoring about the same, which makes them all equally good at predicting where you are on any given day.

With that said, 11 did have a few anatomy questions that required a better knowledge of anatomy than most students have (I lucked out since I have taught/tutored it for the last year). The genetics question on pyloric stenosis was also one of the most poorly worded questions that I've seen since I left USMLErx for uworld.

The concept of liability of multifactorial inheritance was fairly well elucidated in Kaplan Genetics.

Took NBME 11 a few days ago; just finished NBME 7 today. Got the exact same score on both. NBME 7 gave me the impression of being the harder test while I was taking it, but strangely enough, I got fewer questions wrong on it (though the scoring scale balanced it out to give me the exact same score as on NBME 11).

In terms of predictive value, I guess they are somewhat similar (at least in my case).
