Hey folks,

Sorry if there is an obvious answer to this question, but the one about the medical student with blood in his urine, but doesn't recall having an infection. The titer for ASO was less that 1:100 i think. But none of the choices seemed like a nephritic except Acute post strep and think IgA nephropathy. Thinking IgA nephropathy has gross hematuria, I picked post strep. What was the answer? 😕

And on a second note, I have my boards in a week. I've been doing upper 60% to lower 70% on Qbank, and a 80% on the free 150 exam. But I got a 219 on this sucker today (NBME 2). So this kinda worries me with my initial "realistic" goal of 230. Is this still a reality? :scared:

I picked IgA GN. a random guess.... Anyone have the answer?

I'm pretty sure it's IgA... reminds me of a similar misleading question about a nephrotic syndrome on NBME III

Yeah, I wrote IGA NP too. Titer of 1:100 and no evidence of prior infection = not strep.

Also, what the hell was on the little kids hand that he had for months? with the raised whitish lesions on his hand. I couldn't figure it out.

But what clue you guys into IgA? I don't recall any other systemic findings or notice of gross hematuria? I just looked at the back of 1st Aid, and in the Rapid Review section, it states RBC Cast = Acute Glomerulonephritis.

hi was just curious how u scored in the actual exam..i also got the exact same score as u in the form 2 and am waiting for my result..hope its more than the nbme score...
