did anyone take nbme 4? i just got a 163 and am extremely upset i studied this past month after getting a 180 on form 1 and 2 a month and a half ago. i really just want to pass the exam and am scheduled to take it next week. i have been studying out of the first aid hardcore this past month and listened to all of the goljan lectures. i don't understand why my score would go down so much. i also studied brs path.

hey, i took nbme 4 2 days ago. form 4 was very heavy on biochem/mol bio--my weakest areas. but i thought i had done a lot better! and i'm a little confused bc i spent all of today looking up answers (books and online) to the questions-i only managed to do the first 2 hours, but i got ~82% and 80% on block 1 and 2, respectively, which i dont think is bad at all so how did i end up with a score lower than expected? i think this was mainly due to me burning out the last half of the exam. i think pacing myself is really key.

im studying for my second attempt at step 1. the first time around i did qbank/qbook and FA. i did nbme form 1 one day before the real test and scored 186. I failed the real thing with a 171.

this time around what i did was I added all the info from the qbank explanations into my FA (i had taken notes all along) and what was not already in FA, I added it. Its amazing how many things there are in FA which you miss when you read it, but when u look for it, its there (an example is mononucleosis. EBV AND CMV cause mono. EBV is heterophile +ve while CMV is -ve. The CMV was mentioned in FA, but there is no mention of the heterophile. That info i added from Qbank.

So, if you REALLY know your FA well, you should do OK. I also did robbins review of pathology questions (about 1300). I got 71% the first time around and 84% the second time through. I also have listened to goljan audio several times. I am currently listening to Kaplan biochem and physiology lectures (the molecular bio and metabolism chapters for biochem and renal, cardio adn endocrine for physio). I have also read goljan rapid review path 2x. Thats a very good book.

i did nbme form 1 3 weeks ago and got a 440 (204) I'm going to give nbme 4 in about 10 days. and do form 2 and 3 as i get closer to my exam (which is on november 9th)

good luck
