NBME 5 respiratory question

A static compliance graph is one where there is no air flow taking place.

From respiratory mechanics, you know that the end of airflow occurs when the lung pressure and chest wall pressure balance each other. In the graph, find the point at which the two pressures are equal and opposite. The lung volume at that lung pressure is your functional residual capacity.

In this case, that happens at 10cm H2O, so your answer is 2L, or D.

I am not sure how to read this graph, anyone have any idea how to solve this problem?

I think you should just keep one thread. Perhaps post all of your questions there so it will be easier to follow. I am sure future test takers will appreciate it. Kinda like other NBME threads. Reason why i say this is because i have tons of questions from NBME 5 so i was just going to post to your previous thread and let it grow etc. Just a suggestion.

That makes it hard to focus the discussion to one question, I think. Most of the questions are very clear, there are just a few that needs to be talked about.
