Note these exams are found on NBME.org: Has anyone used these yet? Have no idea when they added them. They are only 20$ and there is 2 forms for each subject.

I just found out about these as well. I have my Psych shelf this week so I bought both forms. They're apparently retired questions from real exams. I'll let you know what I think after I do them in the next few days.

Oh perfect, Psych is the first one I have to buy.

Also just found out about them. Says they are from 2011 on the NBME site, strange no one mentioned them. Would have been nice to know about them before the surgery shelf, but at least I found out in time for ob Gyn shelf.

have you taken one yet by any chance? just came across them myself and was wondering if they were worth buying. I'm also about to take the OBGYN shelf. thanks in advance

if anyone has bought any of those subject tests and then taken the actual shelf for that subject, it would be great if you can post your experience. Also, I don't care what shelf it was. Any info at all you may have would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I just took the Internal medicine practice shelf 1. First off, I thought it would be 100 questions, but its only 50. So I was kinda disappointed with that, but otherwise it felt just like the other shelfs. It was good practice and pointed out good topics to review, but I don't think that it told me where I stand or anything. Just good practice questions. Worth the money? Probably not, but I most likely will take the second one closer to the test. Just my 2 cents

I took both of the neurology ones the day before my shelf. The questions are very representative in content, style and difficulty. Just like the NBME practice step 1 exams though, you only get told which questions you missed without the correct answer, which is frustrating since it can be tough to figure out what the actual answer is. Also, my actual shelf score was 10 points higher than the average of the score from my 2 practice tests, so I'd use their prediction cautiously. If you have the extra time and the money, I think it's a decent purchase to get a good idea what the shelf will look like.

I also took both clinical neuro forms from the Mastery Series on NBME. I found they helped me to simulate the exam and reduce anxiety. In my case, I second Bbon since my actual shelf score turned out to be 11 points higher than my average score on the mock forms. So, I would also advise caution with taking the grade too seriously. I took the ob-gyn forms from this series too and will post my opinion on that later.

I took some for peds, ob/gyn, and medicine. They were good and pretty accurate in their score predictions for me.
