NBME exam percentiles

How does one go about figuring out the percentile grade of an NBME exam? The score reports for the NBMEs just give the raw score, but my rotation is using the "percentile" score for our grades.

my school emails us a page that shows percentiles

Yeah, the NBME sends it with your score report. Just ask your clerkship admin to send you that file.

just a word of encouragement: if you are in the 16th percentile, that's still 1 standard deviation from the mean in a standard distribution. in science we very roughly call things an outlier if they are 2 SD from the mean, which is down in the 2nd percentile
