nbme form 3 = discouraged

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If it's your first practice test, then I think you should know that those numbers can jump around a little. If you get a form you happen to know some of the random answers on, you can score higher (and importantly, the opposite is true as well). Keep working hard and take another practice test next week and I think you'll have a better idea of where you stand.

your confidence interval sucks..

(sorry i had to )

You need a much better sample size to tell you anything, don't stress over this too much.... What if you got a 255 on form 3.. would you be cracking open the buds already? No, you'd prob be saying, it was just this time, but I might not get so lucky next time...

it works both ways.

these are the posts i cant stand on SDN. dude you scored a 235 with 2 weeks left, see where you are weak and work on it. Moving 5 points in 2 weeks shouldnt be all that hard. Had a few friends that improved over 20 points in 2 weeks. Again it all depends how you have been studying. If you have been busting it for 5 weeks before, it will be more difficult. If you have been that intense gaining points will be easier. Just relax and study hard.

wow, greg1184, you're such an inspiration.

just bear in mind a lot of us would kill to get the score you are upset about... maybe next time leave the 'bummed' part out and just ask for 2 week advice.. sometimes it upsets people when they see this

of course there aint gonna be a next time for you, you'll do great, just keep doing what youre doing

I'm sooooo sorry if this came off sour. I was having a self loathing moment. I've always been one of those people who busted a lot of butt. I'm not particularly smart or special. It doesn't come as naturally for me as it does for some people. so I def wasn't trying to downplay a decent score. It's just that I do want to do derm, and it's just a plain fact that most people who get in are superhuman. and I'm just a regular gal with a lot of past, traumatizing skin issues trying to do the one thing she loves. I wish it weren't so competitive. again, really sorry if I offended anyone, or came off like a brat.

theres always the ^above^ personal statement in your application. good luck! if not facts but concepts that worries you, then uWORLD AWAY!!!
