I do not wish this on any of you....

I saw a nice large envelope with the NBME/USMLE logo as the return address in the mail today and my heart skipped a beat or two. I wasn't expecting my scores back quite yet but thought it must have been the day. What is it? - I have been chosen to fill out a survey which also had an enclosed unfolded letter-sized return envelope just to add to the authenticity of what a real report must look like, you know more envelope thickness and all...

I feel like I have been chosen as a victim of Punk'd instead (the cameras must have been secretly filming through the keyhole of my mailbox). Be on the lookout "chosen ones" 😱 👎 😱

OH MY GOD, I am sooo happy I read this! I'm getting the mail for a friend of mine who is on vacation and she received one of those and I thought it was her scores!! I was freaking out figuring I'd get mine anyday now.

Oh yeah...got home an hour ago....checked the mail.....a large NBME envelope 😱 I thought, "could this be IT already?"
felt the heart jump, got sweaty....A SURVEY!!! I almost threw up I was so nervous!

They never stop playing with our minds, do they?

At least with the MCAT you knew it would be 60 days, no more and no less, until you received your score. I have no idea when I should expect the USMLE report...

Man that bites...I got one too. I've got family over so I just slipped on into my bedroom and ripped into the thing (HR 120 BP 160/70 RR 30 T 99F)...only to find that damn survey! Those 'uckers...

The exact same thing happened to me. I got my "scores" a week after I took the exam, only to find out it was some silly survey

Seems like they send that survey out to everyone every year. I got one a few days before both my Step I and Step II scores went out.

I was right in the middle of cooking dinner when my mom strolls in from the mail box and says, "hey, you got some big envelope from NBME here." I had my hands all full of salad or something and I yelled, "open it!!"....then promptly screamed, "NO! DON'T OPEN IT!!" I almost dropped dinner all over the floor, sprinted over, and shredded the envelope, my hands were shaking so hard. If this was an episode of Punk'd the nationwide audience would be laughing their a**es off at the expression on my face when I saw it was just a STUPID survey. Idiots at NBME. They should put SCORES NOT ENCLOSED in four-inch letters on the front AND back of the envelope.

Calm down folks. I am sure that you guys did well. The exam is over, just relax and chill until the scores come. After that, you can celebrate or be depressed all you want.

I'm glad I read this post. It reminds me a little of when I took the MCATs. When I got my scores back I read the sample score report and thought they were my real scores. I was devastated. Anyways I feel like NBME should tell you on test day or something about this survey.

Yes, a friend of mine who received the survey got his score and scored a 261.

I finally got the real score and although I passed I will not reveal the poor score I received. I guess I wish I was still waiting after all of this... 😱 Seriously, congrats to everyone else on this forum, you guys and girls are amazing!
