I have to take the microbiology and immunology shelf soon. I was wondering what books and resourced people found most helpful for this exam...

Sorry, didn't take the shelf exam. BRS is usually ok for the shelf. I've also heard good things about the "micro cards." Not sure who makes them, though.

I only had a few days to study for it but I would suggest the following:

- Study the FA micro section. It's the one section of FA that's mostly compete IMO
- Be able to draw out the gram - and gram + charts as this will get you an easy 3-5 questions.

- In addition to the above I did all of the micro questions in the Kaplan qbank, which while not great prep for step I, I found helpful for the shelf.

I don't remember exactly what I got but it was > 600.
