I havent seen this question asked before, But do the preclinical subject NBME's have any predictive power for Step 1.
Do they matter in terms of knowing if I am preparing appropriately ?

If you're talking about NBME forms 13-18 or whatever then yes this has been discussed at length

I made the same score on like 4 of the NBMEs, they overpredicted my score by 1 pt

Uworld was + 25
I should have clarified. I meant preclinical subject exams.

The academic advisor at our school shows us the correlation of class exams and NBME finals to step 1 scores for previous years.

For our school specifically, the correlation for NBME subject exams to Step 1 performance is about 0.8-0.85
For class exams to Step 1 performance the correlation is about 0.7-0.75

So, yes they are a very good metric to gauge your preparation for Step 1 relative to your peers.
That is awesome. Thanks. I assume that the exams overpredicted preparation since some people don't take them seriously.
