Hi all some NBME questions I though you might know the answer for.

65yo woman being treated with Cyclophos what is the MOA of the drug?
choices: DNA histone deacytelase, DNA polymerase alpha, DNA replication, DNA topoisimerase 2,
EGF receptor tyrosine kinase, Caspase 3, BCr-abl tyrosine kinase.

Cyclophosphamide = Alkalating agent attacks guanine N7 . i always memorized this fact but never understood what it actually means tho . can someone explain what alkalating means plz.

Alkalating agent is used for slow growing cancers. The other category is antimetabolites which are used for fast growing cancers.
