Sorry if this a silly question, however before I purchase the NBME SAs I would like to know this. I know there a 4 blocks of 50Q's, however is each block timed individually? or is it like the shelf exam where you pound for 4+ hours. And is it possible to take a break (like 5 min) between blocks? Or you can only if you finished a block early? If I buy the self paced mode, will that bias my score? I guess it's better off to simulate the real thing are closely as possible, but I get SUPER tired 120 questions in or so... and significantly slow down.

Thanks for all the help

It goes directly from one section to the next. However, you can pause it whenever you'd like. So you can get the timed one with no worries. Just pause it after each section and then keep track of your break time on your own!
