OK so I have asked a few folks that have taken NBME online now and I am a little confused about something, because getting different answers.

SO when you take an NBME ..if you do it in untimed mode....
can you go back to the questions after receiving your score (like you would do with the q bank) ???
when you go back to the questions ... are the ones you got wrong MARKED wrong?
Please explain to me the advantage of doing an nbme UNTIMED vs TIMED.

One thing I heard was that NBMEs 6 and 7 are exceptions.. I know they come with extended feedbacks, but can you still go back and see your wrong answers (timed or untimed)?

Sorry , I am just a little confused on all this and just want to have this clarified before I make the purchase.

Thank you all for your time.

in both timed and self paced; once a block is over you cannot go back to see the questions, this applies during the exam itself and after recieving your score. you just get a break down of your performance.

nbme 6 and 7 have the extended feedback for and extra $15 where they tell you the questions you got wrong but they dont tell you the right answer but you can research or figure it out yourself

what you can do is before you end each block you can go back through the questions and either write them down/take screenshots of the questions or topics you had no clue about, this will have to be done in self paced so you are not under time pressure

Thank you. I think I have a better understanding now that you've explained it.
So only forms 6 and 7 would show me my wrong answers, but would it matter if I did that timed or untimed (for 6 and 7 ) i.e. If I chose to do forms 6 and 7 timed, could I still see the ones marked wrong at the end of the test ?
I may also do NBME 4 and 5.. so those I may do untimed so I can have another look at those question I suspect I answered wrong.

Thanks again.

Untimed has nothing to do with whether you can see the questions. You only get to see the ones you got wrong in the extended feedback on 6 or 7.

Timed vs self pace is only relevant in regards to the time you have to complete each block (1 hour vs 4 hours, respectively)

Do extended feedback on 6 and 7, and you'll see which you missed, albeit they won't provide the correct answers. A google search should point you in the right direction though. Good luck.

Thanks Knuckles..
I am gonna go with extended feedbacks ones and do them timed. ..now I think I have understood how this goes now. Like you said... I can only see wrong answers with 6 and 7.

Thanks again.
