Were any of the questions the same? Were the same topics or key concepts tested on both exams? Were the questions the same style, length, difficulty, etc? Similar question stem?

How about the 150 practice items? How similar are they?

Thanks in advance.

The NBME exams are very realistic to the real exam. They are very similar. The 150 practice items are generally a little bit easier than the real deal.

The self-assessment questions are retired questions so they are obviously going to be the same style, length and difficulty.

There is a fairly high correlation between the self-assessment and your actual step1 score..i think it's 0.6....

thanks for the replies.
i understand the high correlation. but could you please elaborate just a bit more on how the questions are similar in style, length, etc? did y'all find similar concepts being tested on the real deal and nbme? i think i understand what you mean because the aamc tests were like the real mcat.

thanks and sorry to be a pest!!!

The answer is yes and no. Yes, they are similar but no, they have varying concepts to help evel the playing field.
