So on the NBMEs, missing 7-10 per section gives you about an 80% and this only equates to a 220ish.

Is there little room for error on the real thing? Should I be aiming for only 5 misses per section??? That seems a little ridiculous.

are u sure about that? i feel like i missed way more than that and i scored a 220 on NBME 4

You should just spend $45 and buy one. Honestly, I feel like I'm missing a lot more than that and my scores have been above 240. And the NBMEs that you purchase are more likely to be accurate and precise.

I saw a number of errors in one supposed set of NBME answers. I really think those are worthless. Just pay for it, take it, and don't worry about the answers or the percentage correct. Anyway, the percentage correct is going to vary by test depending on the difficulty of the questions. I don't know why people are so hung up on that around here.

Ugh you may very well be right. I took the NBME 4 yesterday and on average I marked about 12 per section and I just got a 510 (225). I know this is nothing to cry about, but this a letdown for me because I just scored a 231 on the free 150 and a 232 on the UWorld SA #2 about 4 days ago and was hoping to continue rising. So I guess either I was just having an off day today or the they aren't lyin about UW's overpredicting. I found myself unable to educatively guess myself thru a lot of the questions I had marked. Test is less than 2 weeks away!!! 🙁

Anyone else take the NBME 4 and find it harder than the others? I know they're scaled accordingly but just in general.

i scored a 206 on UWSA#1 when I first started studying about scored a 220 on NBME 4 after a couple weeks of studying (last wknd). I have my exam in about 2 weeks too!

Shooting for 230+
😍

Thats correct... I just went through and figured it out. I got a 229 on form 3 and it equated to an 83.5%. Crazy...

Great, so now I just took form 6 and did even WORSE 470 (= 216?)

Don't understand WTF went wrong. I went thru the entire exam with utmost confidence and marked maybe 8-12 per section, but figured I'd still only miss about half of those.

My weaknesses this time are strengths I had in form 4. And the weakness I had in form 4 were a little stronger this time. Makes no goddamn sense, and this is really frustrating.

Everything that had to do with shear memorization I generally knew right away, and for the most part the thinking questions I thought I had a good grasp on.

My current trend is 231 (free 150), 232 (UW SA#1), 225 (NBME 4), 216 (NBME6). (Getting dumber)

Done w/ UWorld, and I was hitting mid 60's on average by the end.
Gonna hit First Aid and go thru the UW questions again during this last week that I have and take 1 more NBME next week.

if its any consolation, i did form 6 too and I felt like I got kicked in the chest afterwards. its a tough form and while its standardized, the freaking out during the test prob lowered your score like me. focus on remaining focused, your previous test scores show you know the material

Don't worry about it, I think you will do closer to the 230 mark. Most people I know that are scoring about average have a plateau and fall below it for a week or two. My friend was averaging around 83% in week 4 of 6 of his studying, and in week 5 and 6 he was scoring around 60%. When he took the real thing his score was more representative of the 83% (he got a 253). This is also happening with a handful of my classmates. It seems to happen more so in people that are scoring above average, where people scoring below average roughly linearly improve. I think it's bc the people scoring high, get a little more confident toward there test date and miss some of the detail they would normally catch in a question.
