I'm going to take my first NBME in 2 weeks. Should I take 12 or is that considered a bit outdated now?
I'm hoping for a 230 on my first one, but what's the score range for peoples' first NBME? I know it depends on your prior knowledge and all, but roughly...

Depends on how many you plan on doing. If you're going to do them all it doesn't matter but if you're only going to do 2 or 3 or whatever you should do the more recent ones. I don't think it matters though IMO they're all pretty good.

I'd stick to 15 and above. 12 and 13 were kind of a waste of money.
