Hi everyone

I plan to take NDBE-1 in december. I live in Israel and I'd to read your recommedations for a location to take the exam. I consider NYU or Columbia in NYC or maybe Fort Lauderdale (FL). Your opinion and experience could be helpful.

😕

Thanks,

Dr. Nadav Avineri (DMD)

Hi Nadav,

I am a student at NYU and just took the NBDE I this past July at NYU. To my surprise it was rather well organized and the seating is more or less comfortable, if anyone can be comfortable sitting down and taking a 400 question exam for 7 hours 🙂

Columbia's dental school is rather far uptown in NY and is a little out of the way compared to the rest of Manhattan and I am not really sure how the exam goes over there. Maybe someone else on the forum can give some suggestions.

Also there is a possibility that starting with this December's exam, it will be possible to take it on a computer. So look into that if you want.

Hope it helps,

I took it in July 2003, and DO NOT come to Fort Lauderdale, FL to the the Part I for the following reason:

1) VERY unorganized - over 300+ candidates showed up around 7:45 AM and we didn't get everyone situated and start the exam until 10:15 AM. Needless to say, we didn't finished the exam until late at 6:15 PM!

Maybe it's because there were a lot of people at Fort Lauderdale taking the Part 1 for the July examination that caused the kaos, but perhaps the December examination will be more suitable because there will be less candidates taking it?
