Hey guys,

I have a question, would appreciate it if you guys can answer...

If you want to give a two weeks notice to the CVS Pharmacy that you work at (in regards to you leaving), how should you go about doing it? I got another pharmacy offer and I'm thinking of putting my two weeks notice in today (sort of excited about that too). However, I'm just a bit confused as I'm not sure whether I should hand in a typed up notice/just do it verbally and to whom? to the store manager? or the pharmacy manager? (the sp pharmacist)..and that pharmacist isn't even working today, I tried giving her a call so I can let her know before anything else, but she didn't pick up and doubt she'll even call back. 🙄 So, who exactly gets notified about this as I want to get it over with today.

you are going to want to hand in a note to the manager of the store as well as the pharmacy manager. When I left CVS I informed the pharmacy manager first, then the store manager, but it is up to you which order you would like to do it in.

Does it matter though? I was thinking I'll just go there today and give in a notice to the store manager. Since the supervising pharmacist isn't even working there today...but do you think the pharmacists may take it in the wrong sense? as to how I didn't let them know about it before the store manager? Keeping in mind, I have yet to let anyone know at my workplace, I don't know how the pharmacists will react to this if I first let the store manager know.

by the way, danphines, if you don't mind me asking..how did your pharmacist react when you told them you're leaving?

Here's the thing, I have been wanting to tell them for a while now but just found out a tech resigned there. what a coincidence. 🙄 I was going to let them know in a few days or so anyways, and I just want to get it over with, today..kind of fed up with that place. So, don't want them taking it negatively as I already had this planned out a week or so ago which is why I'm a bit confused on how I should do this now.

Do this professionally. That means you need to do this both in person and in writing. You should send an e-mail to your PIC and your pharmacy supervisor. Thank them for the opportunity. No need to involve the store manager. Give them appropriate notice. You should meet with PIC in person and give notice. Even if that means you come in on your day off. Make sure you thank him or her for the opportunity.

Pharmacy is a small world and the labor market is really crappy. It's never a good idea to make an enemy. It's also the right thing to do.

I would tell the PIC of that store first verbally and then send a formal letter to the Pharmacy District Manager as well as talking to them and letting them know.

I agree to make it professional and thank them but you want to take another route to in your professional career.

I would not bother to tell the store manager.....
