With Freshmen year comming to an end my GPA completely sucks! Next fall I had planned to take Molecular Genetics, Chem I and Lab, Elementary Spanish II, and history class. The thing is Chemistry is very difficult for me. Do you think it would be best to wait another semester an take it in the Spring so I can concentrate on Molecular Genetics and my other classes and get my GPA going? If it takes me longer to graduate I'm not concerned. I'm working because of necessity and that takes a lot out of study time so I try to watch it and not over do it. What do you guys think? Thanks!

Lots of people mess up freshman year, so don't sweat it too much. You are right that you have to get the "GPA going" though. If you feel like you need more time (i.e. take easier classes) when taking chem, then go ahead and do it. It has been my experience that med schools care less about your class load and more about you grades. So do whatever you need to do well.
