I'm a Neuropsychology Resident looking for a referral for a friend (not one of my patients), though I do want to protect his confidentiality.

He is 58yo, born hydrocephalic and with Mental ******ation. Developed epilepsy in his late 30's, that is only controlled when medicated to the point of sedation.

His new caregiver wants to re-explore treatment options for his epilespy to improve the patients quality of life. He's currently under care of a Neurologist, though I thought a second opinion might be warranted.

The family is in NJ, though are willing to travel. Anyone have recommendations for a really good epilepsy specialist???

Any thoughts on this case would be very helpful, as well.

My gratitude, in advance.
