Need advice about my clinical experiences

you do have enough clinical experience 👍 i believe you're fine. if anything once you're done taking your mcat exam, go back to volunteering 🙂 while you're applying, it will be a great way to explain to the adcom what you're currently doing!

by all means focus on the mcat exam right now! it is important for you to get a high score. cotinue to study hard and good luck 😀

Do I have enough clinical experience so far for that to work? Or should I try to cram in some clinical stuff now even though it will cut into my MCAT time?
When you were a pediatric research assistant, to what extent did you interact directly with a sick child (rather than reading the chart or talking with the parents)? And then, the same question for the 3 month gig as a clinical research assistant, what contact did you have with patients for that experience?

Based on your additional information, I'd agree that you're in good shape for clinical experience.
It's been so long since that peds experience that I am having trouble remembering all the details of my job and the point of much of what I did (as in, how it actually translated into research). We were not really told much about why we did what we did at the time, so that certainly doesn't help. Do you think it would be ok to get back in contact with the doctor who ran the study to ask him about this?
I think it would be a great idea to get back in touch with the primary researcher. If a paper resulted from the work you helped with, it would be nice to get the citation and read it for a good overview of what was done and why, as you could well be asked questions about this. Knowing the researcher's name, you might even be able to find it on your own via PubMed.
