hello
i appeared for nbde I in 2007 and got 80%. then i did dental hygiene in canada. now i want to concentrate on dentistry. are my scores still valid? i confirmed with ada to retake nbde I if i need to. shd i appear again or use the previous scores, if possible. are there any chances? i also want to appear for nbde II. so i am in dilemma if i shd reappear for part I or not. it will save lots if time n effort if i dont have to. please give me good and trustworthy advice asap.

i hope someone will reply soon.

It is very unlikely that you will be able to use your DHNBDE for your NBDE requirement since the exams are not interchangeable.

the scores are for nbde part I for dentistry not dental hygiene. sorry for the confusion.

How did you end up taking the NBDE if you were not in ds?

I'm going to guess that this is an international student who did not get accepted to dental school so pursued dental hygiene as a recourse, but now wants to partake in an international degree.

I want to say that your NBDE score is good forever but, the test was overhauled in 2007 and made much harder and now it was overhauled again and is pass/fail.

I would call the programs you're looking into to see what they say.

thanks n u r right that i am a foreign trained dentist n thats y i appeared for nbde part I. instead of spending more time, i went into dh n is even working in that area. but my u,timate goal remains to be a dentist. i hope watever i studied so far will get me some good in future. thanks for ur advice. i will definitely email them directly n confirm.

i am a foreign trained dentist. thats y i gave nbde. i didnt even apply coz many of my friends told me that its very less n not worth trying. but then instead of spending more time, i thought of doing dh. presently coz of bad job market in canada, i thought of being a dentist again. if u have any other suggestion, do post it. thanks.

This hurt my eyes even trying to read. Is it normal for people from India to use so many abbreviations when posting on a message board? This seems like a common thread.
