I need some advice. I can arrange my class schedule so that I have all MWF classes, and I want to know if this is a good idea considering I will be scheduling Medical School Interviews this semester. I figured that it would make it easier to go out of town for an interview on a Tuesday or Thursday so that I wouldn't have to miss any class. However, I have never taken all my classes MWF before, and I am scared that it could be disasterous with tests/assignments. Would you go with the MWF schedule or not?

I wouldn't stress about it too much - especially if most of your classes are upper level science classes and/or pre-reqs. Since you're likely declared Pre-Med with your university your professors should be very understanding about your interviews. There's very little you can do about it other than skip them... and we know that's not gonna happen! 😀

I'm sure it's fine whatever you do. I scheduled my classes as I would any other way because of the courses I need. I will try not to skip labs, but if I have to, then I will talk to the TA about it beforehand. For classes, if I have to skip, then that's fine - I will give a friend a recorder and ask him/her to record the lecture for me. There is no mandatory attendance in my school, but if you have it, just talk to the prof beforehand that you are going for an interview. I'm sure he/she will be perfectly fine with it.

It shouldn't be a problem. When I was an undergrad, I scheduled two classes that were held at the same time. It worked out okay because I borrowed notes from classmates and took the finals on separate days.

You may want to lighten your coursework during peak interview season, though.

ive had a MWF only schedule for several semesters and its actually really great. however, idk if you wanna be putting your classes on fridays and mondays. i know alot of schools will schedule you themselves for a monday or friday interview; many only offer interviews on these days.

So are interviews for med schools all on mwf?

Skipping class for med school interviews is no big deal. It's not like you're skipping class to go to a party. If there is a test that day, just ask to take it at a later date. They won't say no for a med school interview.

I had to change my class schedule this semester cause of interviews. I had/have all my classes on Monday-Thursday, but I had an O chem lab on Tuesday and Thursday nights until 10 pm. So then I got my first invite and the only days you could pick from were Thursdays and Fridays, and I looked at some other places that also included Monday interviews. Looked to me like I wouldn't be able to travel to get to Friday morning interview days! And certainly not Thursdays.
I think that if your classes on Fridays are all lectures, then it doesn't matter if you miss them. If there's a lab or something with required attendance, you might be in trouble!
