Ok so I'm in the process of applying to PT schools now and my prereq GPA is slightly low at 3.1 .

I got a b minus in both anatomy 1 and 2 and can retake both this semester(fast track) for about 1000 dollars.

Do you think admissions will look very favorable upon me retaking these courses? In your opinion, does getting a b minus warrant a retake?

I think a B- in Anatomy and Physiology definitely warrants a retake. If it were Physics, I would say keep moving forward and see where the chips fall. I feel in order to be competitive, you need to aim for a 3.5 prerequisite GPA. A&P is the basis for Physical Therapy, so do your best to ace it next time around. Even though they will probably average both classes, strive for an A!! Your GRE, experience, volunteer hours and interview can make up for a low-end GPA, but A&P is a key subject. I think an admissions committee will look upon you favorably if you retake the class and do better the second time (not to mention, you will know the material)!!

Yes retake the Anatomy course and go for the A. Other pre-reqs like Chem and Physics I would take a B and apply, but as mentioned before though everything is important and relevant Anatomy is the key to the profession! Good luck!

Aside from admissions purposes, I think it would be personally beneficial for you to retake them just because there is such a huge emphasis on anatomy in PT school. So, boost your application and brush up a little on that information at the same time.

So I've decided to enroll for the anatomy 1 fast track course just to check the pace. Thanks guys!
