K so you'll have to forgive my ignorance but I'm trying to assess how competitive I'll be for MD/PhD. Please be blunt with me on this. I've only got 3.48 science, 3.6 overall, 35 MCAT, published in a journal, couple poster presentations, and an award for best presentation at a conference. Did research in the same lab for 2 years and am currently working full time at the Hyundai Cancer Institute as a research coodrinator. I'm not sure if my science GPA will screen me from MD/PhD programs or if my other experiences would make me competitive... Please let me know!

Also the science classes that brought me down were all Chemistry, B- in Gen, C+ in Organic Chem, than B+ in Biochem. I had all A's in pretty much every other science class.

GPA is low, but isn't that bad. 3.6 overall is decent, 3.48 science is sub-par but isn't going to keep you out of MD/PhD on its own. MCAT is ok. Research seems ok. You don't want to be a research *coordinator* as much as someone who is actually doing research. Titles are meaningless here and may actually be misleading. Are you spending a lot of time at the bench? If so, good.

Agreed with Neuronix. If you've done research (done projects and got results - seem like you did if you have publications) then you're good enough to get into many programs.

The C+ in Orgo will raise an eyebrow or two. It is uncommon for MD-PhD applicants to have that sort of grade in Orgo. If there is an explanation for that grade, your premed letter should address it. The rest of your application looks to be competitive.
