Hey homies,

My list is currently at 30 schools and I wanted to slim it down a bit. Outside of that, I'm super open to wisdom and advice concerning how to make my list. Are there any schools on here that I'm leaving out and should consider? Any schools on here that I'm crazy to apply to? I feel confident in my ability to interview well, but my main concern is that my MCAT is a few points lower than about half the schools on this list, while my GPA is higher than a majority of them. Let me know what you think. Any and all honest feedback is welcome.

Undergraduate Degree: Georgetown University
Stats/background: cGPA 3.910, sGPA 3.895, MCAT 515 (128/128/128/131), CA resident, good ECs + research experience

Columbia, NYU, Harvard, Duke, and Stanford are all pretty far reaches for you.

UW does not accept OOR (outside of Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, Idaho). It is only $35 for the secondary, but unless you are WWAMI, it is like a 0.07% chance of admittance.

OHSU does not accept anyone without Oregon ties.

I think your list has too many reach schools: Columbia, Cornell, Duke, Penn, Icahn, Stanford, Harvard, NYU, UCSF, UCLA, and very little safety schools. I recommend keeping LA and SF and narrowing down the rest to fewer schools. I recommend SLU, Drexel, GW, and Georgetown if you're looking for more schools.
UWash and Oregon favor in-state applicants too much. I recommend against applying.

I had very similar stats to you with a slightly higher GPA. I would cut down Harvard, Brown, UPenn, NYU, Columbia, and Boston. I did have a lot of success with CA schools though, so you’re in a good spot!

Most of these schools are extremely competitive. I agree with the above that you should cut some of the top schools you don't love as much and add a few schools like SLU (I had identical stats are was accepted there very early but didn't receive quite as many interviews as expected) and some others. Good luck!

You need mid and low tiers. Follow the advice of schools to remove in this thread then add more mid and low tiers. Compose 1/3 of your list mid tiers and 1/3 low tiers.
