Need advice on masters vs certificate

Hey Guys, am in the middle of choosing between a certificate program and a masters. The certificate is from VCU and the masters is from Gtown (masters in tumor biology). The certificate program is more like first year medical courses, while the masters is not. I have been told that adcomms will look at your overall grad gpa and see how well you do rather than individually looking at each course you take-in that case would getting a masters be the better option since you get an actual degree rather than a certificate?

it would be helpful to know what you're trying to repair. To me, the question isn't degree vs certificate, but rather which program content would be better for you given whatever academic history is keeping you out of med school.
