Well, i wanna take the DAT ealry july. I pkane on prepping all june an part of may, hard core. This past winter break I bought the big kaplan book, an reviewed most the bio an kicked the PAT an reading comps butt. But what else should i purchase? Im kinda holding off on a DAT course until i see what i get. Im also nervous becuas emy GPA went down the cr@pper. Iv hade a 3.3 for four semesters. I got extremely sick this past semester an got a 1.66. Im retaking genetics an plan to get an A in it. Info would be nice, an i dont need anyone telling me the sarcasim, iv heard enough of it from many people.

def achiever... its made more difficult than the real dat but lets you know where you stand.. score 17-18ish in that and youre in the right track... score below that, then get crackin! for me.. i used destoryer, kaplan bluebook, achiever, and topscore, and whatever else bio books i could get my hands on

I took the DAT not having studied or prepared in any way.

Not entirely satisfied with my score (which turned out to be fairly decent), I enrolled in a Kaplan course and then retook the test...and scored an overall academic and science point lower.

Kaplan gave my money back.

Keep in mind that the PAT sections in the kaplan material is way easier than what you will see on the real thing. Achiever and Topscore give you a better idea of what you will see on the real test for this section. I also suggest you get another seperate book just for bio as kaplan does not cover it indepth enough - try schaum's outline of bio or cliff's ap bio. Good luck.

Schaum's outline of biology
Cliff's AP Biology

But I agree with others, use many resources as possible!

Theres a whole bunch of threads that cover this topic pretty thoroughly, but briefly Id say that for the sciences, hit up the destroyer and your old text books. For QR get an old pre-calc text or review book. For spatial (the question in the kaplan book are easy so dont put all your eggs in that basket) i would consider crack the pat. But if youre tight on $ then its better to spend the bucks on the online tests bc theyll give u decent practice not only on the pat but also on qr, and rc and also help you get comfortable on taking a 4 hour test-but my experience was not to trust them for the sciences.
