I got into an expensive private school and was wondering if it would be a bad idea to try again next cycle for a cheaper school. Thanks 🙂

Look at the stats of the state schools. They tend to be VERY competitive because of smaller class size and cost. So I'd say that is far from a guarantee, and possibly even an unrealistic reach depending on the schools. You might have luck at a cheaper but still expensive private school, but nothing is guaranteed and you have the loss of year, which is worth a decent amount of money depending on what your current job is. Even the cost of applying to 12 schools is a lot. While I'm always in favor of the cheapest option available, right now you've got one option, so I'd say take it.

With what I saw you have great stats. With a competitive GRE I’d say you’d have a great chance of getting into a state school. Especially if you live in Fl which has far more instate schools the other places. I took a gap year and worked as a tech for 1 1/2 years before applying and I’m happy I did it. I earned good money going into pt school now, and I was really able to learn about the profession. This is a great opportunity, but if your goal is to save money I definitely think you’d have a great chance in July.
