Hello everyone, I've been lurking here for quite some time. This is my first post. I have applied to UT Memphis pharmacy school and already had my interview. I took the PCAT last month, so really all the school is waiting for is my letters of reccomendation. I did not think that they would be so hard to get. Two professors I asked just won't answer emails and another professor I asked pretty much declined to write one for me at all. I was really hurt. I'm making an A in his class, always attend and show up on time, and attend study sessions. So as of now I have only one confirmed professor that is writing one for me. Now since the one professor declined to write one, I feel like it is just a burden for these professors. I know it's silly to worry about this, but I can't help it. Did anyone else have problems getting reccomendation letters? What is the best way to ask a professor to write one? Thanks in advance.

I was fortunate in that I got most of my lor's in the summer when the profs weren't busy. Now that quarters/semesters are winding down these guys are going to be swamped grading papers/tests and trying to get their grades posted by university deadlines. Unfortunately this means requests from students for LOR's usually take back burner (even for good students who show up and do what they're supposed to) Depending on when your deadline is, I would try emailing them after grades are posted. If that is not an option you could try professors that are part-time (less work to do) or maybe someone who you took a lower division course from (hopefully less requirements on students means less work for teachers). In the end you just have to hope you get lucky:luck:

I wouldn't get both letters from professors. Have u worked in pharmacy? One prof and one pharmacist would be great, but if you've never worked in a pharmacy do one prof and one past or current employer. That way they can judge you on an academic aspect and a professional aspect.
