Need advice to match into Emergency medicine

Hi guys,
Just wanted to see if any one can give me advice on how to match into EM in terms of research, extracurricular activities, and all of that. I've joined a few professional organizations, but haven't done much other than that. This is for what to do in the preclinical years. Would appreciate detailed advice. (And I am keeping my options open, but as of now I'm highly interested in EM)

Board scores & honor EM > SLOEs & networking > other grades > research > extracurricular garbage

Focus on the top of the ladder and work your way down.

@Tenk Thank you! I was only asking about the bottom cuz I already read how important clinical and boards were.
Do you have advice for networking and SLOE's?
Should a student do an away rotation at a particular program they are interested in, or will any away rotation would be good as long as you do really well in it?

A great SLOE from another program > a mediocre one from a program you are interested in but if you do great at one you are interested in it can most certainly help. It’s basically a double edged sword.
