i am in FM. my residency contract is not getting renewed and will have to look for another program in pgy 1 or 2. my pd said that this program is not a good fit etc. while filling out eras application it asks for reasons for leaving - what do you think is appropriate to put in there.

Woah, let's back up. "Not a good fit etc"??? I don't think that's an "etc" issue... why isn't it a good fit? I think that makes a huge difference with what you can get away with in terms of reason for leaving.

Often when a PD says that "our program is not a good fit for you," what he/she means is "you are not a good fit for our program."

Which, in turn, means you may have something on your track record which is jeopardizing your residency.

Were there any transgressions during your residency that may have led to this?
