After taking the MCAT for the 3rd time I did not receive the score I had hoped for (25-8/7/10). The first two times I took it I was not prepared at all and took them within 2 months of each other and received a 22 both times. The third time I took it I prepared with SN2ED's 3 month schedule and was averaging near the 30's on practice exams and really felt like the 3rd MCAT I just took really played into all my weakness's. Even with my terrible score of a 22 the first time I was able to get 2 interviews, but no acceptance. I graduated this past December with a degree in Biology with a 3.8 GPA overall and in prerequisites. I was a college athlete with numerous shadowing hours, great letters of recommendation, but I did not have that great of volunteer experience due to college football taking up a majority of my time.

I currently have a medical scribe job and looking for a pharmacy tech job to do as well to make a little money since I do not plan on applying again until next year.

I was wondering if I should even try to retake the MCAT that way I could apply to MD schools or continue to work as a scribe and volunteer and apply for DO programs next cycle?

I have always had the thought of being a PA in the back of my head and am able to use the scribe hours for clinical hours if I ever decided to go that route, but right now I still have my hopes on being a Physician.

Any thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated!

I suspect that MD schools are off the tale given that it appears you've hit your ceiling for the MCAT. I don't think that you'll approve, given that you adequately prepared this time. Unless you have test taking anxiety issues, which can be fixed.

Even with DO programs, your choices will be limited, mostly to the newest schools. You'd be autorejected at mine, the Touros and CCOm to start with.
