Hello to our Esteemed Moderator and All!

Sorry for the saga.

I am high on a MSTP waitlist (priority top third) and decided to come to the school - because this school is my first choice and I was admitted to the med school here - and start the summer school Medical School class, Anatomy. It's optional, highly recommended for MSTP, so that they have time to do a lab rotation in the fall. Only one other MSTP (accepted) person showed up even though they have 10 spots. So, clearly things can still change, although if they don't I am prepared to sign 40 K worth of loan papers and proceed with funding med school year one.

Taking this med school summer class means that I will have time for a lab rotation in the fall, which was my plan either way (accepted or not).

So, if I get a definite negative on the MSTP here, I will apply again. Question: Can I also apply for the MSTP to other schools as well as this one, in that I will have one year of med school done by next summer?

MCAT was 34, lots of computational biology and bench lab research experience and projects (Mayo Clinic, etc), graduated with honors cum laude. blah blah, no publications though. I didn't apply until November, which ruled out a number of schools. And finally, from talking around to folks on site here this summer, apparently the interviewer at this school prioritized applicants who knew precisely what research they were going to pursue for their PhD and I had a couple of ideas but nothing specific targeted.

I'd appreciate any advice or clues. Don't know anybody else crashing around trying to figure stuff out like I am.

Meanwhile, I feel like I am in Waitlist Hell.
