Hi everyone,

I wanted to know if any of you could help me. I will try to reapply next year, but for now I need to take some classes to get my gpa up. (2.9 🙁 ) I heard that I should retake any classes I had a C or lower, but the thing is that my C's were from my upper division courses, not the pre-req's for medical school. So, I am not sure if I should take some graduate classes or other science upper divisions, or what kind, Bio, Chem, Stats, Physics. Anyone out there that can help me??

a post-bacc could bring your undergrad gpa up.

Generally, I think that you should go ahead and take what the adcoms call "hard" science courses, like the ones you just mentioned (chem, bio, etc.). So, graduate courses and other upper level classes. Plus you may also need to add one or two ECs to show them that you are really interested in spending your time in and around medicine, even though you are not a doctor yet. Go talk to your pre-med advisor, or, what I've found are that people on the admissions committees at the med schools are a lot nicer and more willing to help you out, but that's just my experience.

Don't beat yourself up and don't fret about taking time off. The most important thing is to make sure you have everything together and you know the reasons why you didn't do so well at first.

:luck:
