Unfortunately, I didn't pass 2 of my exams (I'm a second-year right now). I'm wondering how this will affect my chances for residency and what I can make sure to do from this point forward (since there's nothing I can do about the past) so that I don't hurt my chances anymore

Don't worry about the future, or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.

Do the best you can for the next two years of medical school. Study hard for Step 1 & 2. Do what you're told during clerkships. Try hard. Don't make enemies.
