Hello all, i need some input. I currently live in Florida and have applied to UF for Pharmacy. I got an interview and have been assigned to the Orlando campus which does the distant learning. I originally wanted to attend the Gainesville campus for the lecture, however that is not likely going to happen. So my question is would it be silly for me to give up my seat at UF and attend another school out of state ie: south carolina or temple?

Know that South Carolina also has distance learning. You also have to go to the campus and see if you would be happy there (Temple is in a rough neighborhood). Do some research into the programs you might consider instead. Is it worth giving up a seat and ending up where you won't be happy or not ending up anywhere at all? It is ultimately up to you.

Honestly, part of the reason why i am looking else where is because i want a different setting, Particularly a city. However, i am afraid that choosing a school not in the same "tier" as UF would bite my rear end when it comes to residency in the future. Would you let the school's rank/name deter where you want to live? I also applied to UIC and hopefully i get accepted there, but worst case scenario is temple or south Carolina vs UF orlando.

Then I guess you should ask yourself if it is worth paying the deposit to have a safety net or do you want to roll the dice? Remember, you can always accept UF and put money down to hold your seat, then withdraw if you get accepted at UIC or somewhere else you want to go more. But that is a decision that is completely up to you.

I agree with this. You don't want to give up your spot and then not get in anywhere at all or regret not going to Orlando because you didn't like the other schools.
