Hi Everyone. I am an aspiring International student who wishes to pursue study in USA as Undergraduate student in the field of Pharmacy (6 years programme). Can anyone please guide me which University would appropriate to apply. I have sent the applications for FALL 2007 to University of Missouri, University of Buffalo , Southwestern Oklahoma University, University of Toledo & Texas Southern University. Also planning to apply to University of Texas in Austin. I have been through the threads where in read some comments that normally the US Citizens and PR are preferred to take Pharm.D course... is this true? if this is true I would be thankful if you guys can suggest what can be the best course be suggested to a young international student. Thanks all!🙂

I just have to correct your thread title: I believe it should read "Need Advice"
Ok I'm good to move on now.Thanks.

You may want to be a little specific as to which country you are coming from b/c Canada is international as well and I think they have preference with some schools. Also how far in your ed have you gone ie which sys. All these info are needed so we can better assist you. Good luck

Hi there. I am from India. Right now I am in XIIth Grade and am studying in Physics, Chemistry & Biology. Is this info enough? Thanks for your support 🙂

honey - to find the information you're looking for, you'll need to do a little searching. Start by looking up at the top of this forum to the sticky thread about the application process.

If you click on that, you'll find a link part way down that talks about the statistics for different schools. There is a link to Pharmcas, which if you click on that, will take you to the schools participating in Pharmcas, what their acceptance statistics looked like for previous years, and, on the left, will give you a link to foreign students.

I really can't give you more specific information. I will say the public CA schools will be very difficult to get into since we have so many outstanding applicants from our own state as well as nationally. You would have to be exceptional (like have been named on a significant research paper) to be considered.

I'm not sure if that is the case with other publically funded pharmacy schools & the private ones will have a different set of criteria as well.

Good luck & come back if that search doesn't help you. There are many foreign students who post on here so some may come & give you more advice.

Hi SDN and thanks for your advice.

In fact, I already had been through this website as well as www.acpe-accredit.org for the details after I posted this and thoroughly checked it. In fact I am appearing for Undergraduate programmes. Not applied for CA universities as most of them do not offer Undergraduates programmes. (6 years programme)
