Do any of you know where I can look to get a good explantion of the interactions of GH, Cortisol, Estrogen, Osteoporosis, etc. If this goes up... this goes down... which causes an increase in X & a decrease in Y 😱 I just can't get it to stay in my head & everywhere I look it only explains a couple of them at a time (and not well, IMHO). Help!?!

Thanks Alex... but I did read BRS & it's not helping 🙁 I swear I have some sort of block w/ this part of endo... which means 50% of my Step will be based on this topic 😱

Post some of your questions/concerns on here...we'll try to help out as much as we can.

I understood a lot of endocrine from reading Robbins but thats too much at this point, plus a lot of the stuff in there pertains to tumors and such of the different organs. If you have Pathophys for the Boards and Wards try reading the endocrine chapter in there, they have a bunch of tables with arrows going up/ddown for different homones in different disease states.

Go to the library and check out Costanza's Physiology (not the BRS book, but a real one she made) I think that is by far the best source for physio that I have seen out there. It'll take you like 2 hours to read through the endo section, but I highly recommend it. It also explains all of the diseases and what would happen (up, down, sideways, etc) with each disease.

I second this. Costanzo's physio (purple book) was a lifesaver for me.

I liked Lange's Review of Physiology by Ganong (I think). It probably could serve as a text instead of a review, but it hits the details without extraneous fluff.

Thank you for your replies everyone! 😀 I'll definitely check out the books you're suggesting (not for a full read but to at least get this sh*#!@ sorted out in my brain). Almost there, almost there...

If Costanza teaches even half as well as she writes books, I would've paid good, good money to have her come teach us physiology, cuz our program sucked

i personally like lange's.. thought it might cover too much in detail.. but the diagram and pathway really are really helpful..
