Use of Colistin in MDR Gram Negs!!!!!

End of story.

Most of the places I interviewed had several pts on Colistin per month.

Meanwhile my home hospital isn't running into any carbepenemases yet. Yet.

nebulized colistin vs iv antibiotics for the treatment of pneumonia

HIV medication dosage adjustments in patients who require it due to D-D Interactions

Hm. I had assumed I was searching wrong, but I guess it's probably because it's too dangerous to do those kind of studies with active MDR infections.

Well then the only other logical option is that I can't find them because they don't exist!

(Yeah I know I'm wrong.)

lol!

I don't know if it exists or not. but I do know its happening. but just because we are doing it doesn't mean its published.

consider these 2 factors. colistin is an old drug. mdr gram neg is an emerging and recent phenomenon. so what does that mean?

Right. That was my point.

That could be one of the reasons. I do know of hospitals running an investigation with Colistin but I certainly doubt it's sponsored by Pharma.

Again, this may be a hard topic to research..that's why it's a good topic to dicuss..current and vital to ID arena today.
