Looks like I will starting a new venture in 2014 and need recommendations for a robust AP software pack for reporting.

I like the AP Easy suite of services: full tech support (figure this is standard) with autofax AND autoemail (encrypted) reporting options as well as uni-directional interface to billing.

Also looking at Orchard Soft.

This is high volume, outpatient, biopsy usually stuff. Need something somewhat idiot proof.

Thanks!

We have APEasy. I love it. It is by far the best system I have used, very user friendly. I hear that it can be difficult to get it to interface with clinicians' offices though. Our tech support guy is awesome. You basically tell him what you want the ability to do in APEasy and he writes the code and makes the program do it. Good luck!

NOT SoftPath. We switched from Tamtron/PowerPath to SoftPath a few years ago and everyone, particularly in AP, absolutely despises it.

I second Euchromatin - SoftPath is awful. We switched recently at our institution and most everyone hates it. Buggy interface full of script errors, crashes frequently, uses so much CPU resources that whole computer upgrades are necessary. For example, the only computer I've seen that can run SoftPath with reasonable speed is one with a Xeon processor. Even with the Xeon it still crashes often, just reboots itself quickly. Millions and millions of dollars spent so far with nothing to show but a group of largely unhappy people. AVOID SOFTPATH.
