I looked up KSU's Nutrition course, and what I saw was ASI 318. However, it appears to only cover ruminants. Can the people who've taken the online Nutrition through KSU confirm this? I need a class that covers BOTH ruminant & monogastric nutrition. Does KSU have a different course that will fit the bill?

Does Purdue cover both classes of animals? And if it does, can someone give me the correct course #?

Thanks!

I took ASI 318 online from KSU and it covered monogastric and ruminant nutrition. I took it about a year ago, so I guess there's a chance they've changed it, but I would just call them and ask. Everyone I dealt with at KSU was very friendly and helpful. 🙂

Thanks! I doubt it has changed, but I will call to check with them today. Is it just exams, or is there homework...a project..etc?

For some reason I also remember ASI 318 not being just about ruminants..... but then the next semester I went and took their 1 credit ASI 675 Monogastric Nutrition and ASI 678 Equine Nutrition as electives that had ASI 318 as a pre-req I do believe.

I took it last spring, and it covered monogastrics and ruminants... There were little mini homework problems, and then I think 3 or 4 online tests that you have to have proctored. There was also a journal review homework assignment, but no big paper or project. I really enjoyed it! And seriously, even though people on here said don't buy the optional book, I did and it was a total waste. I sold my on amazon on the last day of class, figuring in vet school I'll end up buying whatever they want me to have, so this was not needed as a reference. Even if you are like me and always want the book even if it is optional, you really don't need it. Everything you need is in his notes outlines that you fill out watching the video lectures.
