Holy Crap!!!!!!

This article says that under healthcare reform patients who intend to get reimbursed for OTC meds have to present a doctor's note or Rx along with the receipt to their plans.

Look forward to a huge volume of patients flooding the EDs to get such notes. For anyone who has ever worked in CA this will make the MediCal patients abuse of the EDs for Tylenol prescriptions look like the good old days.

I guess the good news is that this only applies to those with HSA, FSA, or HRA accounts and actually use them. In this day and age, the number of people who actually a)understand how these work, and b)have the sophistication to use these, should total about a dozen in my shop. I don't think we will be seeing as many of these people as we think.
