I just took the DAT today.. let me know what you think of the scores, and any info about schools that you know. I have fellowships on my resume to back things up as well as a lot of dental clinical experience, started a club, and have been an active community participant and active sport participant. Should i retake the DAT?

PAT:22
QR: 14
RC: 20
BIO: 16
GC: 15
OC: 17
TS: 16
AA: 16

GPA: 3.39

Definitely retake

with a 3.39 gpa you are going to need to get that AA and TS up to at least 19-20 range. Then, you will be a very average applicant in those respects. I can't speak for the rest of your app as I do not know enough about your accomplishments, but it will have to be unique to stand out from the thousands of other applicants with the exact same numbers. Do not get discouraged. If dentistry is something you want to pursue, then you should put in the time and study more. Good luck.

The good new is, you don't have to study more for PAT and RC. But you do need to retake. Check out predents.com for the score range/school combo that you are applying to. I would say retake anything under a 19/19/19

Anything 20+ is a good score

Yeah buddy, I would definitely retake the DAT with those scores... but you're totally fine man... don't get down or beat yourself up about it... I had to retake the DAT as well... just focus on it really intensely this next time and take a course on the exam... I would suggest taking the online Kaplan course...it has loads more resources than the in class course and has special "smart" tools to guide you on what you need to study more to pull everything up... trust me... after taking that course I ended up with a 21/21/27 (AA/TS/PA).. so it does work.. even though it was probably praying and fasting that got me to that point 😀 keep it up and you'll get in...even if it takes you three years to get in...hey, it's worth it.

I used kaplan and it didn't do that for me....

Whether you're talking about the class, or just the Kaplan blue book, you need to supplement it with a few other materials to fill in the gaps. Some suggestions are the DAT Destroyer (great practice probs for sciences + QR, also has orgo "roadmaps" which you should memorize!), Cliffs AP Bio, Chad's gen chem and organic chem videos, and of course it is always helpful to refer to old science textbooks. Another thing (which I didn't use, but probably should have) is Crack DAT Math, so consider that too. Good luck! Here are the links for Chad's videos (very helpful, easy to follow): Gen Chem: http://www.coursesaver.com/showthread.php?39-General-Chemistry-Review-for-DAT-MCAT Organic: http://www.coursesaver.com/showthread.php?2791-Organic-Chemistry-Review-for-DAT-MCAT#post2988

This is something I know about... Especially if you were not a science major you need to retake. I did well on QR but no one even looks at that score. Everything looks okay except for your sciences.. RETAKE

I think you should retake the DAT..ur PAT score & RC score are good..
but ur TS and AA should be atleast a 19 for you to have a good chance into getting into dental schools.
