Hi all... I've recently been accepted into Simmons (Boston) and Rutgers (New Jersey) for their MSW programs and am having difficulty picking which one to go to.

I loved both locations, and received a scholarship from Simmons, which made it $24,000 cheaper than Rutgers (for the two years I'd be attending). I feel that living in Jersey would be much cheaper than Boston, so that $24000 isn't really pushing me to choose Simmons.

I chose these two schools because I want to do work specifically with sexual assault/domestic abuse victim/survivors. What do you all think? Which school has a better program for what I want? I am seeing that Rutgers is ranked higher, but was hoping to see if anyone here has gone to either of these schools.

Thanks for any and all info you can give me!

I would not worry too much about their ranking. Instead, see if either offers the concentration you want and courses/certificate programs in your area of interest, and most importantly, if they offer field placements that will allow you to work with the population you want. I don't know these schools well, but it looks like Rutgers has a certificate program in working with abused women and children.

Simmons has a post grad Trauma certificate, a Trauma Speciliations, and clinic Trauma electives.
