Hey everyone! I'm a newbie and will be applying either next year or the following year. I need some help determining what classes would contribute towards my science GPA. I've heard different things from my fellow pre-med peers. Does AMCAS determines your official sGPA? However if anyone has any insight it'd be greatly appreciated!

-Psychology 101?
-Pre-Calc, Calc I, Calc II (Calc II taken at a CC) but would all 3 of these count towards my sGPA? Someone told me it'd be just the highest level but then I was also told CC grades don't count towards your sGPA?
-Lab research for credit (Bioc499)
-My upper division Physiology courses? (Psio major) Immuno Physio, Cardio Physio, etc.

I apologize if this is a stupid question! I am curious and my advisors have been no help!

Only pure science classes will impact your sGPA. Math is liberal arts and psychology is a social science.

AMCAS will determine your official cGPA as well as your sGPA. If you have more than a few courses that are not classified correctly they will have you re-classify them, otherwise they will make adjustments themselves.
Psychology 101 is a social science and would not count as stated above.
Math classes do count, however. Your sGPA is your BCPM (biology, chemistry, physics, math) GPA. I've never heard of CC grades not counting for AMCAS, but do check with specific schools to determine whether they accept those classes for their pre-requisites.
I'm not sure if lab research counts (never took any).
Physiology classes should count as part of your sGPA as well.

Check out the AMCAS Application Course Classification Guide at the official website for more information.
