Hi guys! i got interview from Howard:laugh: i am very excited and i don't want to blow this opportunity.i have never had a formal interview so i am nervous. please give me some info/tip about howard.
Thank you.

when did they tell u? interviews r usually laid back .I thougt they weren't gonna notify till jan. can u pm ur stats and when u completed ur app? Thanx and good luck!!!!

congrats on the interview. They have an essay section and a math section. I would go over algebra, basic calc and arithmetic. Interview questions look on the feedback...they have basic questions like why pharmacy? why howard? what would u do if your friend was cheating? pharmacy experience? what would you do if you do not get in? The essay section is sometimes about current events. good luck

did anybody submit there supplement to howard? because i have it all filled out, but i thought we are only suppose to submit it when we find out if we get an interview?

It won't be stressful at all. But, it is very important to eat breakfast or bring your own food with you. When I was at the interview last time, I waited for 8 hours without eating anything. Bring some snacks and drinks. The interview itself was only about 30 minutes. Essay and math tests were so easy.

i really apperciate every body for your kind thoughts and recommendations.
I hope to see you all next year.
Thank you

adish24... just wondering if you can pm your stats....

thnx! and best of luck!!!

I'm just curious but OMG why did you wait 8 hours??

I was there with apple84 at that time. Oh my god!! The faculty did not start the interview until 4:00pm. We were all there at 8:00am. They just put us into a room and let us wait there. One thing that made me mad was that all the faculties were having little party right next to our room!! None of us could leave because we were not sure when the interview would start without eating anything!! Then, someone complained about the situation and then they put each students to professor's office. That was the interview. I was invertiewed by only one person.

No offense to anyone applying to Howard, but I just cannot wrap my head around this. Why would you apply to a school which:
1. is on probation.
2. is disorganized.
3. has rude or incompetent people answer the phones.
4. makes you wait 8 hours for an interview.

The pharmacists I work with graduated from Howard, and they are awesome people, so don't get me wrong. But when I hear about how they admit themselves that their school is disorganized, it really makes me ponder how they still have people...

It was May interview. But, I heard it happened at May interview. Those who was interviewed before May had smooth interview as normal. As Apple84 said, it will be better for you all to bring some kinda snack and drink. As I said, school itself is great. I have lots of friends who go or went there. Don't even worry about their status.

Well I just applied for the sake of it.. I did not even expect an interview...and since I havent heard back from anyone except Midwestern (alternate list), I figured why not just go for the interview...especially coz their next review is in June so I am sure I will know before Fall 07 about their probationary status..

The reason that I would apply Howard even with above 4 problems is that there is only 2 pharmacy schools in Maryland. Maryland is sooo hard to get in but Howard is relatively easier than Maryland. That is why I would apply Howard. 😀

lol oh comet - for a second there I read "two schools in MD" and I almost had a heartattack. I MISSED A SCHOOL IN MARYLAND????
THANKS for my mini heart attack - really, thanks, I've always wanted to almost die. 😛

I thought about it applying to Howard for the same reason. But to be honest, I dislike DC too much to try it out.

Where else did you apply if I may ask? Where do you go for undergrad? 🙂

Sorry, there is only one school in MD and one school that is close to MD (Howard).
I applied Midwestern, Maryland, LECOM, Shenandoah, UMKC, Applachia, Howard. I finally got accepted to Midwestern but I got rejected to Shenandoah and Appalachia.
I just finished my undergrad. at UMBC. I am so happy to leave the school.

Does anyone who currently attends Howard or has interviewed with them before know how many students are interviewed and how many are accepted?
thanks!

Same as last year. ~200 interview for ~50 seats. Been confirmed that 5 ED students acccepted admission so about 45 seats up for grab.
Don't expect them to increase the class roster this year. They are down sizing again this year. Howard will not admit more than 50 students until that probation disappears. They got in trouble by admitting 100+ students in the past.

So there are over 200 interviews for 40-something spots?
That's about a 20% shot..I'm scared.

More than 20%. There will be people with multiple offers and will reject HU offer in a heart beat.

I went to Howard for undergrad and I must say points 1-3 are legitimate issues. The school is very disorganized. I'm predent not pharmacy, but I had a friend who was considering applying to Howard Pharm School. After hearing the probation problems, she decided not to apply there. I just read an article about the pharmacy school, and its not good..:

Like Utter, I can't understand why people are still applying to a school that has had a probation/accreditation issue not once but twice. I would suggest people do a simple google search on the subject. Please think twice about Howard Pharm School. I just dont want to see anyone get screwed...

That is really scary! :scared:

Thanks for sharing the article--Howard's probationary status was enough for me to not apply there..
